Yvonne Roberta (Parden) Blackwell

Yvonne Roberta Parden Blackwell, 87 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Sister, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 12, 2023. She entered this world on November 9, 1935, born to Erma Moritz Parden and Ralph Parden, in Shreveport, LA. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Yvonne was a generous, kind, and selfless soul who loved the Lord, her family, and digging through and collecting rocks.

Yvonne is survived by her children, Debbie Walley and husband Elvin, Diane Weiland and husband John, Denise Pickering and husband Steve, John Blackwell, Jr. and wife Susan, and Glenn Jones and wife Kathe; grandchildren, Krystal, Kanen, Aaron, Evie, Gabrielle, William, Jillian, Tyson, and Timmy; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Jeanette, Margorie, Gerrie, and Donnie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Yvonne is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John Blackwell, Sr.; parents; and granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Jones.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justus Danehower, Glenn Jones, Kanen Blackwell, Aaron Blackwell, Steve Pickering, and John Weiland.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Frank Bass. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
