Ruby Mccarthy

Ruby Milton McCarthy passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. She was 83, a native of Denham Springs, LA, and retired from the LA Department of Labor. She was an avid fan of LSU Tiger Baseball and Football.

Ruby is survived by her two sons, Jack Gunter, Sr., and wife, Christine, and Steve Gunter, and wife, Edna; daughter, Brenda Watts and husband, Larry; four step children, Sandra Jones and husband, Harold, Bobbie Joe Thompson and husband, Larry, Phillip McCarthy, and Bobby Gene McCarthy, Jr.; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild; sister, Judy Tourere and husband BJ; and numerous step grandchildren; step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby G. McCarthy, Sr.; first husband, Winsley S. Gunter, Jr.; parents, Wilson and Pauline Milton; daughter, Janet Gunter; brother, Wilson Milton, Jr.; and sisters, Julia Mae Milton, Barbara Whitehead, and June Harris.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Monday, December 26, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting will continue on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00AM, officiated by Brother Larry Watts. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
