O.B. Stiles

Oscar Benjamin Stiles, Jr. (O. B.), a lifelong resident of Baker, Louisiana passed to his eternal home with Jesus Christ on August 25, 2022, at the age of 90 years and 7 months. He was an Army Veteran. He retired from Dixie Electric (DEMCO) and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Baker.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years Mary Janice Cole Stiles; daughter, Brenda Sue Stiles Medlin (Ronnie); son, Noel Benjamin Stiles (Kris); grandchildren, Jaime Medlin Sanders (Wade), Jennifer Medlin Gierse (Alex) and Benjamin Kyle Medlin, Cassidy Stiles Thomas (Chase), Courtney Stiles Whittington (Taylor) and Joseph William Horsley; great-grandchildren, Kinsley Hope, Hazel Grace and Mary Kollins Whittington, Olivia Quinn Thomas, Henry Benjamin and Lucille Evelyn Gierse, and George Nolan Sanders.

O. B. loved playing his guitar with his wonderful group of friends at nursing homes, assisted living facilities and churches. He also loved woodworking and fishing. He looked forward to visiting with his DEMCO crew members that he loved so dearly. He loved seeing his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Oscar B. Stiles, Sr. and Marie Perrault Stiles, an infant son Markus Glenn, one brother and six sisters.

Pallbearers are Johnny Metz, Bubba Munn, Mike Parish, James Wells, Chuck Spillman and Tyrone Riley.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Arnold Austin. The graveside service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
