Michael Martin

Michael Long "Mickey" Martin, 77 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 23, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on October 9, 1944, born to Julius and Jimmie Martin, in West Monroe, LA. Mickey enjoyed spending time in the outdoors camping, fishing, and riding the road on his motorcycle. He was always telling jokes to make the people he loved laugh.

Mickey is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Cobb Martin; son, John Perry McGee; three daughters, Deneine Luse (Mark), Brenda Major (Randy), Barbara Blanchard (Steve); 4 grandchildren, Justin St. Romain, Ashlyn Martin, Kelci Morales, and Faith McGee; 3 great-grandchildren, Ruth, Luca, and Judah; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mickey is preceded in death by his father, Julius Martin; mother, Jimmie Lee Scott.

Serving as pallbearers will be John McGee, Carl Cobb, Bert McCutcheon, R.J. McCutcheon, Mike Quin, Jr., Mike St. Romain, and Tom Territt.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Steve Martin. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
