Jimmy Glenn May, 79 years old, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, and friend to many was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 25, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He entered this world on June 13, 1940, born to Ernest and Ophelia May, in Monticello, MS.

For those who had the honor of knowing him, you know that he was by far one of the sweetest, most caring, loving..but most of all Godliest men you would ever meet. God doesn't make many like him, and he will be missed by all. He has left a legacy for all, a legacy of example, a legacy of what every man should be.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Hedy May; sons; Timothy May, Lamar Hammond and wife Lawanda, Kevin Stephens; daughter Susan Talbot and husband Todd, Jessica Jugsujinda and husband Israel, Vanessa Achord and husband Brandon; grandchildren; Carmen Foster and husband Jason, Dee Dee Keith and husband Casey, Brandon Hammond and wife Brittany, Katelyn Strumolo and husband Joseph, Kendall Talbot, Rachel May, Landon Marchie, Katelin Corona, Cheylin Stephens; great grandchildren Peter Strumolo, Lucas Strumolo,Oakleigh Watson, Thomas Foster, Jack Foster, Anna Foster, Braylon Hammond, Mae Hammond, Landry Keith, Hayes Keith ; brothers, Ernie May, Lester May and wife Nancy; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Ernest May; mother, Ophelia May and son, Scottie Hammond and wife, Glenda Gatlin May.

A private graveside service will be held at this time. A celebration of life for Jimmy Glenn will be held at a later date for family and friends.

Our family would especially like to recognize the staff and caregivers at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. We are forever grateful for the loving compassionate care that you showed. We would especially like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Intensive Care Unit, whom ministered and cared for Jimmy during his final days. You will be in our prayers and may God keep you safe.
