William Charles "Bill" Alford, 57, a man of deep faith and infectious joy, was called to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 23, 2026. He passed peacefully, surrounded by the warmth and prayers of the family he held so dear.
Bill's journey began on June 21, 1968, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Born to Phyllis and Charlie Alford, he brought a light into their lives that never dimmed. A proud 1987 graduate of Zachary High School, Bill carried the friendships and memories of his youth with him throughout his life. Bill was a lifelong member of Slaughter First Baptist Church.
Those who knew Bill will best remember him through rhythm and movement. He possessed a true passion for music of all kinds; if a song was playing, Bill was dancing. Whether it was a lively beat or a soulful melody, he found harmony in the world around him and shared that happiness with everyone he met. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness as a beloved son, nephew and cousin.
Bill is survived by his loving mother, Phyllis Varnado Alford; brother, Brandon Alford. Bill is preceded in death by his father, Ray Alford.
