Virginia Rabalais

Virginia Rabalais, 76, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on April 28, 2016. She entered this world on October 6, 1939 in Hessmer, LA, born to Thomas and Beatrice Charrier. She loved working in the garden with her flowers, cooking, and designing costumes for her business Capital Costumes in Central, LA Virginia was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Jeremy Rabalais and fiancée', Stephanie Robin, Amanda Griffin and husband, Shaun; great-grandchildren, Alexander Collier, Taylor and Kade Gautreaux and Shaun Michael Griffin, Jr.; brother, Carl Stevens and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her pampered poodle, Bae Bae and her dear friend Mary Kate Pedeaux.

Virginia is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Rabalais; parents, Thomas and Beatrice Charrier; step-father, Joe Ducote; children, Johnny, Steven, Timmy and Jennifer Rabalais; her grand-daughter, Dana Rabalais Gautreaux; her brothers, Raymond and Royston Charrier; and her sister, Leona Gauthier.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, Monday, May 2, 2016 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visiting will continue on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 10:00am until the service at 11:30am. Deacon Shelly Joseph will officiate the service and the burial will follow in the Port Hudson National Cemetery.
