Virginia Hathcock

Virginia Rowland Hathcock, 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt went to be with her Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ on June 6, 2016. She entered this world on January 25, 1942 in Baton Rouge, LA, born to Lloyd and Ernestine Rowland. She passed away peacefully at home after a short bout with cancer.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Charles Hathcock; daughter, Melinda Arnold; son, Thomas Hathcock; 2 step-daughters, Dawn Miller and Valerie Amador. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Candice Hathcock, Thomas Hathcock, Jr., A.J Pillich, Amanda Miller; and a great number of loving nieces and nephews. She leaves her baby sister, Jane Shepard and her husband, James; and her best friend and much loved identical twin sister, Glenda Fontenot and her husband, Robert. Glenda, Robert and niece, Ernestine have seen her through this most difficult time on a daily basis with incredible love and support. Glenda and Jenny had the most special bond that cannot be broken even in death.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Covington Rowland and Ernestine Hanchey Rowland; and brothers, Tommy and Gene Rowland.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, LA, on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until the celebration of life service at 1:00 p.m. The graveside service will follow at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Reverend Al Young will officiate the services.
