Tommy Robinson

Tommy Ray Robinson departed this earth on August 3, 2018 at the age of 66 having been diagnosed with lung cancer 50 days earlier.

He was born February 21, 1952 at Reese AFB in Lubbock, Texas to the late Duke and Dorothy Robinson. He was fortunate to have been raised by Christian parents and he had come to accept Jesus as his Savior early in his life. Tommy was known to have a been an eternal optimist. He possessed a positive yet forthright personality to those whom he knew, as well as to those he simply encountered.

He enlisted in the USAF in 1971 and was honorably discharged September 1977. He completed training as an aerospace ground equipment repairman. He spent some of his service time in Viet Nam maintaining and repairing the various aircraft in use during that war. After his discharge he worked within the HVAC maintenance department for the City of Baton Rouge until his retirement. He remained retired for a short time and began work at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System in Jackson, Louisiana up until his death. Tommy enjoyed a remarkable variety of skill sets and frequently taught others some aspect of HVAC, basic electrical work, construction, and plumbing to name a few. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as a younger man.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Susan Alford Robinson, of Baker, Louisiana. Tommy and Susan's favorite activity was sitting on their back porch talking, watching the wildlife activities and planning their next project. Children, T.J. Robinson (Kassey Gill) of Central, and Crystel Robinson (Paco Benntt) of Watson; grandchildren, Devon Robinson, Blake Robinson, Kayce Bennett, and not quite ready to be here, Phoenix Robinson; stepchildren, Cliff Searcy and Robert Searcy; brother, Darryl (Mandy) Robinson of Central; sisters, Paula Dungan and Shannon McAdams of Brandon, Mississippi; along with a host of nephews and a niece whom he loved dearly.

Preceded in death by his parents, Duke and Dorothy Robinson.

Tommy's faithful Maltese, King, already misses him greatly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Griswold Home Care (Allison Robertson) and Clarity Hospice.

We would also like to thank Glenn Landry and physicians at Our Lady of The Lake Hospital.
