Thomas Evan Pine, Sr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend to many, and loving member of his community, passed away on October 15, 2023, at the age of 87. He was born on March 31, 1936, in McComb, Mississippi, to parents whose love and guidance shaped him into the remarkable person he became.

Thomas, known affectionately as Tom or T.E. by his friends and family, began his journey in McComb, where he spent his childhood and formative years. Armed with determination and a thirst for knowledge, Thomas pursued his education and obtained a High School Degree. His commitment to self-improvement and education was a testament to his strong work ethic and desire for personal growth which would eventually lead him to serve his country in the US Air Force.

Throughout his career, Thomas found fulfillment and success in the retail industry, specializing in delivery with Nabisco, where he worked tirelessly, serving his customers and creating lasting business relationships for many years. He was an avid LSU fan, working as a gate captain for many of the sports venues at LSU for over 20 years. Thomas also drove for Avis Car Rental for 15 years. He enjoyed the outdoors spending lots of time hunting, fishing and camping. 

Beyond his professional achievements, Thomas held a penchant for creating a loving and nurturing home environment. He met his beloved wife, Alice, with whom he shared countless cherished moments and created a lifetime of memories. Their unwavering love and partnership were the foundation of their family, bringing joy, laughter, and an unbreakable bond that will endure.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice Criswell Pine; son, William "Billy" Pine; daughter, Kathy Pine; grandchildren, Bradly Pine (Michelle), Amber Murphy (Matt), Johnathan Pine (Catherine), Meghan Pine, and Jared Pine; great-grandchildren, Lily Pine, Noah Pine, Leo Pine, Jayden LaGrange, Hunter Murphy, Hayden Murphy, Cooper Pine, John Luke Pine, Arianna Wallace, Aliana Baxter, and Julian Baxter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Hattie Smith Pine; son, Thomas Evan Pine, Jr.; brothers, Bobby Pine, Harold Pine, Jimmy Pine, and Alford Pine; and sister, Minnie Mae Roberts. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Pine, Johnathan Pine, Jared Pine, Matt Murphy, David Dickey, Albert Dickey, Philip Pine, and Jayden Legrange. Honorary Pallbearers will be Amber Murphy, Meghan Pine, Arianna Wallace, Lily Pine, Noah Pine, Aliana Baxter, Leo Pine, Julian Baxter, Hunter Murphy, and Hayden Murphy.

Thomas Evan Pine, Sr's memory will forever live on in the hearts and minds of his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and resilience. Though saddened by his passing, may we find solace in knowing that Thomas's legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he created. Thomas held fast to his Christian beliefs in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and would share Christ with all that he knew.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 10:00 AM, officiated by Reverend David Smith and Reverend Dale Usey. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA. 

The family kindly requests that donations be made to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries in Thomas's memory.

Thomas Evan Pine Sr will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May his soul find eternal rest, and may his memory continue to inspire and guide us all.
