Theresa Weems

Theresa Adel Weems, 37 years old, beloved Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 12, 2024. She entered this world on May 21, 1986, born to Diana and Donnie Weems, in Baton Rouge, LA. She joined siblings "Patti" Patrice and Jon. Theresa brought love and light to her family; she was taken from us far too soon.

From a very young age she navigated this world with wonder and curiosity. She grew into an immensely talented artist. Her drawings brought her peace and an outlet to express her emotions. While she was not without her struggles, she loved truly and did the best she could. One of the hardest things she did as a mother was to make the lovingly difficult and selfless decision to give her children a life she could not provide by allowing her Mom to raise them.

She is survived by a large and deeply loving family including children, Collson and Talan; mother and stepfather, Diana and William "Bill" Little; maternal grandmother, Elaine T. Landry; siblings, Patti (Jude) and Jon (Ashley); nephews, Tyler (Tori), Taylor (Lia), Garrett (Katie), and Benjamin; nieces, Kristen (David), Madison (Peter), and Katie (Cameron), great niece, Wren; great nephews, William and Cash; aunts, Deidra, Leslie, Terry(Alan), and Daphne (Kenneth); godmother, Edress; uncle, Robert (Elaine) and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Melba and Sam; her biological father, Donnie; her uncles, Philo Landry and Sam Perkins; and her maternal grandfather, Jimmy Landry.

Theresa is genuinely loved and will be profoundly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4803 Mae Street, on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Lamar Partin. The graveside service and burial will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, in Maurice, Louisiana at 2:00 PM.
