Stephen Peairs, Jr.

Stephen Preston Peairs, Jr., 85 years old, a resident of Zachary, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at his home on March 27, 2018. He was born to Stephen and Naomi Peairs on July 31, 1932. Stephen was a faithful member of Deerford United Methodist Church. He loved his family, and enjoyed the outdoors.

Stephen is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Peairs Hebert and husband Allen of White Castle; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Roger V. and Sandy Peairs of Central, Ricky P. and Lisa Peairs of Ethel, and Rodney D. Peairs of Zachary; six grandchildren, Brandon, Rachel, Hollie, Ryan Peairs, Christina Bays and Travis Hebert; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Austin, and Isabella Peairs; brothers, Larry Joe Peairs and Darryl Wayne Peairs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Stephen is preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Peairs; son, Stephen R. Peairs; father, Stephen Preston Peairs, Sr.; mother, Naomi Peairs; and brother, Robert Ike Peairs.

Pallbearers are Brandon Peairs, Jim Sibley, Hollie Peairs, Ryan Peairs, Austin Peairs and Allen Hebert.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Deerford United Methodist Church, 10393 Greenwell Springs-Port Hudson Road, Zachary, on Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Friday, March 30, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the religious service at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Chris Curry. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
