Sidney Arnold, Sr.

Sidney Joseph "Joe" Arnold, Sr. resident of Liberty, MS and former resident of Slaughter, LA passed away suddenly on Monday, July 27, 2015 at the age of 68.

Joe was a residential painter by trade. Who knew no strangers. If you ever met him, you would never forget his infectious smile and laugh. He aided anyone in need and was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Pat "Tootie" Arnold; his only daughter , Jennifer Brown and husband Charlie; 3 sons, SJ "Jody" Arnold, Jr and daughter in law Christy, Scott Arnold, and Joshua Arnold and fiancé Winter Gordon; 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Haley, Savannah, and Jacob Arnold, Jason Passantino, Raelyn Connor, and Darien Brown; sister, Clairice Norton; brother, Larry Arnold and wife Darlene; sister in law, Detta Arnold; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his second son, Jeff Arnold; parents, Jeffie and Lola Arnold; sister, Carolyn; brothers Buddy and Brent Arnold; father and mother in law, Chester and Angeline Jarreau; sister in law, Delores James; brother in law, Sonny Norton, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Family request visiting hours to be observed on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, Baker, LA. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 9am to 11am with funeral services immediately following in the Baker Funeral Home Chapel. Rev George Storms will be officiating the services.

Pallbearers will be Jody Arnold, Ricky Arnold, Tony Arnold, Keith Norton, Skeeter Gordon, and Andy Hughes. Honorary Pallbearers are Shawn Nottingham and Garland Swann.

Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
