A resident of Baker, Shirlene passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 25, 2015. She was 61, a native of Baton Rouge, and formerly worked as an administrative assistant at First United Methodist Church of Baker.

Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, April 29, from 5-8pm, and on Thursday, April 30, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Oliver Deen, Rev. Gene Rives, and Rev. Tom Dolph. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.

Shirlene is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Rebecca Spears, and Landon and Danielle Spears; a brother, Elmore "Louis" Catoire, Jr.; five grandchildren, Lauren, Sara, Michael, Savannah, and Brayden; and a sister by choice, Judy Dubois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Michael Spears, Sr.; her parents, Jewel Ann and Elmore Louis Catoire, Sr.; a sister, Susan Catoire; and a brother, Ronald Catoire.
