Samuel G. "Goose" Henson, 87 years old, was called to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on March 25, 1939, born to Vera and Joe Henson, in Yazoo City, MS. Goose faithfully served his country in the US National Guard.

Goose is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara R. Henson; daughter, Pam Henson Mosley (Pat); step children, Cheryl Babin (Todd), Terri Vicari (Larry), Jeffery Contine (Traci) and William Tad Contine (Angel); grandchildren, Brandon Mixon, Dannie Mixon, and Thomas Henson; Joshua, Jonathan, and Logan Babin; Chelsen, Lunden, Laryen, and Micaiah Vicari; Paige, Chase, Mason Contine; Peyton and Alexa Contine; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Glen "Doy" Henson (Mary Lynn) and Joseph "Tippy" Henson (Dorothy); sisters, Letha Brignac (Percy), Linda Akins (Tommy), Carolyn Henson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Goose is preceded in death by his father, Joesph Henson; mother, Vera Chesteen Henson; son, Dane Henson; grandchild, Emily Ann Henson; and his brother, MC Henson (Betty Jo).

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on July 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM until the Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Lynn Rodrigue.
