Ruth Duncan, 87 years old, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 20, 2018. She entered this world on July 12, 1930, born to Joe and Gladys Searcy. Ruth was a long-time member of Milldale Baptist Church.

Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, John Wesley Duncan; daughters, Debbie Duncan Robertson and husband Ed, Glenda West, and Lisa Spurgeon and Randy; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; brother, John Edwin Searcy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her son, Eddie Duncan; grandson, Levi Swanson; great-grandson, Landon Swanson; son-in-law, James West; three sisters, Mary Jo Farris, Letha Mae Nugent, and Minnie Grace Brown; and brother, Frank Searcy.

Pallbearers will be Jason Robertson, Jared Robertson, Jerome Robertson, Cole Robertson, Joshua Spurgeon, Jeremy Spurgeon, Randy Spurgeon, Brandon Swanson, Jonathan Duncan, and honorary, Levi Swanson.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Milldale Baptist Church, 11950 Milldale Road, Zachary, Louisiana, on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Reverend Dennis Terry and Jason Robertson. The graveside service and burial will follow in the Milldale Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Baton Rouge Hospice and to Grace Nursing Home for eight great years of care.
