Rooney Sagona

Rooney S. Sagona, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 8, 2017, born August, 30, 1932 to Martin and Naise Soileau in Ville Platte, La. She was a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, La. and a member of St. Pius Catholic Church.

Rooney is survived by her son, Paul Sagona and his wife Charmagne; daughter, Tina Sagona Broussard and her husband Camile; six grandchildren, Shawn, Ashley, Benjy, Samantha, Allison and Sarah; 4 great-grandchildren, Nicolas, William, Olivia, Jocelyn. She is also survived by her sister, Minnie Chapman.

Rooney is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Sagona; parents, Martin and Naise Manuel Soileau; brothers, Moise Soileau and Harold Soileau; and her twin brother, Ronald Soileau.

Pallbearers will be Benjy, Yancy, Brian, Andre, Marty, Carter and Darrel.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Pius Catholic Church, 6380 Hooper Rd, Baton Rouge, on Thursday, May 11, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Frank Bass. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, La.
