Ronald Nelson Norton, Jr., a beloved son, father, and dedicated craftsman, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 17, 2026, at the age of 60.
A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ronald entered this world on October 3, 1965, born to Lana and Ronald Norton, Sr. From an early age, he developed a deep appreciation for hard work and a reverence for life's quiet spaces.
Ronald spent the majority of his career as a skilled carpenter, a profession that allowed him to express his meticulous eye for detail and strong work ethic. He took great pride in creating things that endured, dependable hands he brought to every aspect of his life.
In addition to his craftsmanship, Ronald extended his gentle spirit to his work within the funeral service industry, serving dedicatedly in cemetery care. In this role, he found profound meaning in preparing sacred spaces of final rest, providing comfort and quiet dignity to families during their most difficult moments.
Ronald is survived by his son, Steven Randall Norton; 4 grandchildren, Alyssa, Aiden James, Alayna, and Alec Norton; father, Ronald Norton, Sr.; mother, Lana Tillman Norton; brothers, Richard Wade Norton (Melissa), Robert Dean Norton (Rachal), and Ray Alphonso (Tiah); nieces and nephews, Brooklyn Reese Norton, Braelyn Rayne Norton, Carley Renee Norton, Caitlyn D'Shay Norton, Mason Dean Winters.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Norton, Richard Norton, Ray Alphonso, Kevin Norton, Mason Winters, and Jeff Tillman.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker LA.
