Oscar Paul Redd, age 71, a resident of Baker, LA and native of Lincoln County, MS, passed away on January 16, 2015 at Baton Rouge General in the Butterfly Wing.
Paul retired from the City of Baton Rouge as Director of the Service Fee Business Office. He was an active member of the Church of Christ on Greenwell Springs Rd., Baton Rouge.
Always wearing a smile, Paul had a heart of gold and was devoted to his family and church. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. He was a hard worker with a passion for gardening and living 'green'.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue Redd of Baker; his Daughter Kathryn Redd Cooper, and husband Clay Cooper of Baton Rouge; Daughter in Christian love, Peggy Crawford Noble and husband Joey Noble; His three grandchildren in Christian love, Kailyn, Kelsie, and Kole Noble; brothers, J.W. Redd and wife JoAnne, Glen Redd and wife Beverly; sisters, Lavern Downing and husband Charles, Rita Vick and husband David; and his beloved pets Simba, Hershey and Abby.
He is preceded in death by his son, Jason Paul Redd; parents, Robert and Yuba Redd; and brother, R. Ralph Redd Jr.
The family request that visiting hours be observed on Monday January 19, 2015 at Baker Funeral Home 6401 Groom Rd. from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 10:00am until services at Mt. Zion Church of Christ, Brookhaven, MS.
Religious Services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Church of Christ, 946 George Trail SW, Brookhaven, MS. Officiating the service will be Brother Ronnie Lofton and Brother Bryan Christmas.
Interment will take place following services at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS.
