Nita Rae Coker Middleton Bouquet, passed peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on May 27, 2018 at the age of 93. Nita Rae was born on October 11, 1924, in Electric Mills, Mississippi, to Myrtle Mae (Triplette) and Walter Roger Coker. She was a homemaker and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring after many years in the nursing field. Nita Rae loved spending time with family and friends and was lovingly referred to as "Nannie" by all her grandchildren. Her quick wit, strong opinions and huge heart will be greatly missed. She absolutely loved celebrating her birthday, sometimes celebrating all month long. She was spunky and full of life right until the end.
Nita is preceded in death by two husbands, John Birchette Middleton, Sr. and Ory "Chopper" Bouquet; son, John Birchette (Buddy) Middleton, Jr.; 5 sisters: Juanice Coker, Hazel Powers, Billie Frauenhoffer, Grace Keith and Vondelle Avera.
Nita is survived by daughter, Lucille Hall and husband Charles; daughter-in-law, Delores (Dee) DeLaune Middleton; 5 grandsons, Charles Ray Hall, and wife, Erin; Mike Hall and partner, Von; Doug Hall and wife, Paige; Jeff Middleton and wife, Carolina; Kevin Middleton and wife, Jasmine; 14 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren; brother, Roddy Coker and wife, Janice; half-sister, Annette Wally Hall; and half-brother, Jimmy Walley.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., in her honor, on the Saturday before her birthday, October 6, 2018, at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, officiated by Reverend Richard W. Markert.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either St. Jude's or the charity of your choice.
