Mary Savoy

Mary Neva Fontenot Savoy, 87 years old, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 20, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on October 24, 1933, born to Lucille and Armile Fontenot, in Ville Platte, LA. She was a faithful member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, and enjoyed being around animals.

Neva is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Benjamin Savoy, Sr.; sons, Benjamin Savoy, Jr. (Missy), and Roger Savoy;grandchildren, Allie Savoy, Amy Johnson, Kim Martin, Wendy Savoy, and Derrick Savoy; several great grandchildren; brothers, Ray Fontenot, and Jimmy Fontenot; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Neva is preceded in death by her father, Armile Fontenot; mother, Lucille Fontenot; brothers, Donald Fontenot and Irving Fontenot; and sister, Jeanita Joubert.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Monday, November 23, 2020, from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM followed by Funeral Mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Road at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Michael Moroney. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.

Mask are required upon entering the funeral home and church.
