Marie "Louise" Saynes

Louise Carruth Saynes, 92 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on September 3, 1932, born to Threase and Feranand Fontenot, in Ville Platte, LA. Louise always enjoyed spending time with her family and was a faithful member of New Life Worship Center, UPC, in St. Francisville.

Louise is survived by her loving daughters, Marlene Taylor and Marsha Fontana and husband, Steve; 7 grandchildren, Dawn "Bette" Russo (Vince), Dennis Spillman (Lisa), Derrick Spillman (Vicki), Lanis Carruth (Shani), Jenny Wade (Mark), Steven Fontana, Stefani Turner (Garrett); numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; brother, Nolan Fontenot; 2 sisters, Aline Ardoin (her twin sister) and Enola Vidrine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise is preceded in death by her husbands, Marshall Lanis Carruth and Paul Saynes, Sr.; parents, Feranand and Threase Charlie Fontenot; son, Alton Louis Carruth; infant daughter, Karen Carruth; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Spillman, Derrick Spillman, Lanis Carruth, Steven Fontana, Buddy Spillman and Devyn Spillman.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Brother Chris Wales. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
