Margaret May "Mae" Ryland Kimble, 92, departed this earthly life on April 17, 2017, a day after her 72nd wedding anniversary, after a long battle with Alzheimers at her daughter's home in Watson, LA. She was born on January 20, 1925 to Sharkie and Myrtle Ryland in Naples, LA in Avoyelles Parish. She was a previous resident of Baker, LA for more than 50 years. She was from a generation where girls learned to cook, sew, quilt, garden, crochet, embroidery, knit and was very good at all. Her family has missed all of this for quite some time. She will always be remembered for her love, kindness, gentleness, tenderness and helpfulness by all who loved and knew her. She will be missed but will remain be in our hearts until we meet again.
Mae is survived by daughter, Peggy Joe Kimble Hogan (previously Melancon and Clampitt) and husband, Jim Bob Hogan "The Best", of Watson, LA; The love and joy of her life, her grandchildren, Brandee G. Carter and husband, David and Chance Wayne Melancon and wife, Kammy; great-grandchildren, Halee Jordan Gayle, Ashlye Hutchinson Woolam, and spouse, Kris, Kelsey Hutchinson Brown and husband, Oliver, Mikalynn Gayle Carter and Madyson Mae Morris; great-great grandchildren, Alexis Abygail Delhommer and Locke Alexander Brown; two sisters, Margie Donachrica, Nora Tessier and husband, Jerry; brother, Sharkie Lee Ryland and wife, Vicki; sister-in-laws, Irene "Toopie" Ryland, Sadie Kimble Guillott, Aline Kimble Olivier and husband Jimmy, Lucille Kimble Easley and Jeanette Kimble; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mae is preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Tony Hasting Kimble, whom she cared for the last 19 years of his life due to a stroke; parents, Sharkie and Myrtle Ryland; brothers, Willard and Otis Ryland, daughter and son-in-law, Myrtle Ann (Punkin) and Charles Lee Pate; son, Tony Lynn Kimble; granddaughter, Kellye Jo Melancon Hutchinson, and grandson, Sedgie Frank "Fuzzy" Melancon, Jr.
The family would express their appreciation for the care and support provided by Life Sources Services (Hospice).
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the funeral service at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Terry Booth. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
