Madeline Brashear Bueche, a woman of profound faith, was called home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 17, 2026. She passed away peacefully at the age of 83, just days shy of her birthday. She has now entered her eternal rest, reunited with those who went before her in the presence of the Almighty. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who cherished time spent with her family.
Madeline's journey began on April 20, 1942, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she was born to the late Jesse and Eunice Brashear. A lifelong resident of the area, she spent her years cultivating a home filled with humor, warmth, and the kind spirit of a true servant of God. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. As a longtime member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Madeline found great joy living out the values of compassion and grace in everything she did.
As a loving mother, Madeline's legacy lives on through her children. She is survived by her children, Chad Bueche and wife Angela, Amy Bueche Cowart and husband Greg, and Scott Bueche and wife Jamie; six grandchildren, Ali Bueche Miller (Tyler), Joni Cowart, Luke Cowart, Jacob Cowart, Aubrey Bueche and Brantley Bueche; and great-grandchild, Maxwell Miller; sisters, Margaret Nolan, Jessie Lee Drago, and Faye Gaudin; brother, Bobby "Bubba" Brashear; and a host of nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her nurturing heart, savvy wisdom, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Madeline is preceded in death by her father, Jesse Robert Brashear; mother, Eunice McCulloch Brashear; sisters, Betty Lou Lee, Bessie Ann Krumholt, Myrtis Keith, and Charlotte Marshall; and Goddaughter, Kimberly Nolan-Morgan.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Greg Cowart, Luke Cowart, Jacob Cowart, Scott McKernan, Steven Nolan, Tyler Miller, and Honorary Pallbearer, Brantley Bueche.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Robert Stine. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Madeline. We are profoundly thankful for the dedicated staff at Harvest Manor, with special appreciation for Susan Williams's kindness; the attentive nursing team at The Crossing; and Amber Collins with Hospice in His Care, whose support provided immense comfort.
