Kinzy Estess, Jr.

Kinzey Vardaman Estess, Jr., 85, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away surrounded by his family at home in Watson, LA on Monday, August 15, 2016. Kinzey, also known as Buddy, K.V. and Kin was a native of Hattiesburg and Georgetown, MS. Kinzey served in the Army as a medic in the Korean War. After, he attended Co-Lin Jr. College and Mississippi State University, graduating from MSU in 1955 with a degree in Horticulture. Kinzey, along with his business partner, formed a company that manufactured specialized golf equipment which made a tremendous impact on golf courses not only in the United States, but all over the world. He retired in 2008 after selling the company to a leading global turf and landscape maintenance corporation. During the course of his business, he and his wife enjoyed making new friends while traveling the world. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and enjoyed the men's Prayer Breakfast every Friday morning at Down Home Grill. He was an avid golfer, Mississippi State Bulldog fan, and lover of new electronic gadgets. He and a group of men met for over 20 years, twice a year, to play golf for an entire week on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. He will forever be remembered by his family for the Christmas he said the Pledge of Allegiance for grace and ended it with "Got Ya".

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Mullen Estess; daughter, Paula Leigh Estess; brother Dr. John M. Estess and wife Dorothy "Dottie" Estess; stepdaughters, Cynthia and Jerry Burns, Susan and Robert Aguiluz, Julie and Steve Hubert; grandchildren, Ashley Thompson, Chad Dunn and wife Cari, Tara Burns, Jerrit Burns, Alex Lemoine, Miranda Lemoine, Taylor Hubert Drew Hubert; great-grandchildren, Cameron Burns, Tatum Burns, Henry Dunn, and Kincade Dunn due to arrive in September.
