Katherine Puckett

Katherine (Kaye) Muriel Maynord Puckett, 92, a devoted, loving wife and mother, was in born in Lone Wolf, OK on September 23, 1923. She passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA, where she was a current resident.

Kaye had an unwavering faith in God and found comfort and joy in the United Methodist Church. She had been a member of the Zachary Methodist Church and a former active member of the First United Methodist Church of Baker and participated in services and activities it provided. Kaye was among one of the first groups to begin the Cursillo movement in Woodworth, LA. She loved her community and enjoyed playing golf and bowling with family and friends.

Kaye is survived by her son, Robert E. Puckett (wife Marietta) of Carencro, LA; daughter, Barbara Pittman (husband Alan) of Seminole, FL; seven grandchildren, Katherine (Kim) Finch (husband Roger), Scott Puckett (wife Theresa) of Watervliet, MI, Jay Welch of Clinton, MS, Jennifer Welch Alcina (husband Gary) of Seminole, FL, Robert E. Puckett, Jr (wife Rebecca) of Sugar Land, TX, Kenneth R. Puckett of Carencro, LA and Mandy Puckett Caldcleugh (husband J.P.) of Portland, OR; five great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Vickie Maynord and Debbie Maynord Morse of Oklahoma City, OK.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Elmo Roland (Bud) Puckett; parents, Herman H. and Clara Adams Maynord; and brother, Don Maynord.

Family request visiting hours to be observed on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 12-2 pm at Baker Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 2 pm.

Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
