Jimmie Wayne Funderburk
A resident of Baker and a native of Glenmora, Jimmie passed away on Tuesday, December 02, 2014 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 75, and retired as a carpenter from Local 1098 with 38 years of service.
Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 58pm, and on Thursday, Dec. 4, from 9:30am until religious services in the chapel at 11:00am. Entombment to follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rose Marie Barcelona Funderburk daughter, Cheryl Kay Funderburk Fielding two sons and daughtersinlaw, Darren and Fonda Funderburk, and Mitchell Wayne and Lori Funderburk eight grandchildren, Leslea Wascom, Lauren McClendon, D.J. Whittington, Amy Funderburk, Dara Danielle Bush, Alexander Cole Funderburk, Stephanie Nicole Thibodeaux, and Krista Marie Combs and 11 greatgrandchildren, Alexis, Landin, Connor, Tucker, Christian, Lillian, Ashton, Isabella, Allie, Alissa, and Jude.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Gladys Denby Funderburk and a sister, Patsy Boop.
Pallbearers are Alex Funderburk, Jeremy Combs, Cliff Wascom, Luis Baragan, D.J. Whittington, and Matthew Bush. Honorary pallbearer is Jimmy Evans.
Jimmie was a loyal and faithful husband, and an avid sports fan. He loved playing golf, and fishing at his camp at Toledo Bend. He will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
