PIERCE, Jeff James

A resident of Pride and a retired operating engineer with Local 406, he passed away Monday, February 15, 2010 at Baton Rouge Health Care. He was 76, a native of Port Barre, and a veteran of the Army National Guard. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 from 59pm, and on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2pm, conducted by Rev. Huey Moak. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma Richard Pierce of Pride three daughters sonsinlaw, Donna Edward Mouse Landry of White Castle, Wanda Brian Weimer of Vancleave, MS, and Carol Mark Martello of St. Francisville a daughterinlaw, Donna T. Pierce of Pride two sisters, Dorothy Wire of Georgia and Katie Bartley of Florida seven grandchildren, Chad Landry, Monique Dauzat, Michelle McLin, Megan Weimer, Darrell Weimer, Rebecca LeBlanc, and Dillon LeBlanc and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Wayne Pierce an infant grandson, Michael Crochet a sister, Ruby Frioux and his parents, Nathan Eva Lacoste Pierce. Pallbearers will be Larry Varnado, Chad Landry, Mark Martello, Mouse Landry, Brian Weimer, and Val Buxton. Honorary pallbearers are Carroll Richard, Carl Richard, JJ Richard, and George Lanclos. Jeff was a member of Foster Road Baptist Church.
