Janis Bailey Prejean

Janis Bailey Prejean, age 69, of Flowery Branch, George, and formerly of Louisiana, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, after a 5-year fight with cancer.

Janis was the classic supermom. She was PTO president multiple times at her daughters' schools, high school band Booster President two years in a row, and Girl Scout Troop Leader for a few years. As a University of Tennessee Certified Master Gardner, she became well known among her friends for her Hosta collection. Mrs. Prejean had 27 years driving a school bus for the City of Buford School System where she touched the lives of hundreds of children. Her genuine enthusiasm will be missed. Her loss leaves a huge void.

Janis is survived by her husband, Barrie Prejean of Flowery Branch; daughter, Christine Prejean of Illinois and Stephanie Prejean of Alaska; sisters, Fay Seaton of Louisiana, and Ann Bailey of Arkansas; and brother, Richard Bailey of Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles A. and Ruby Bailey; sister, Marie Bailey; and brother, Charles S. Bailey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, Louisiana 70714 on Saturday, September 12, 2015 with visitation from 1:00pm until services at 2:00pm.
