James King

James Dwight "J.D." King, 77 years old, was called by his Heavenly Father on Father's Day, June 17, 2018. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He entered this world on May 4, 1941, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born to Oscar and Annabelle King. J.D. loved working in his garden, he was a big joker, and a ray of sunshine to his family and friends.

J.D. is survived by his loving wife of 14 years, Virginia King; son, Brian King; 3 grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas, and Anna King; brother, Benny King; step-daughter Shawn Braud, and family.

J.D. is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Annabelle King.

Pallbearers will be Dylan King, Nicholas King, Jarred King, Benny King, Dennis Braud and Josh Braud. Honorary pallbearers will be the men from J.D.'s Sunday school class.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, from11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Officiated by Reverend Larry Hubbard, special music by Reverend Ken Fryer, and obituary reading by Reverend Ken Courville. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
