Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Marie Wroten, 77, of Baker was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alvin Wroten Jr.; sons Ray Wroten and wife Laura and Lee Wroten and wife MeLissa; daughter Tammy Merritt and husband Paul; grandchildren Brittany Stewart and husband Bobby, Eddie Merritt, Hunter Wroten and Tristan Merritt; and great-children Berkleigh and Brynleigh Stewart and Roman Merritt.

She is preceded in death by her father and step-mother Austin and Thelma Bryant; mother, Hellen Noble; mother-in-law Laura Freeman & Rachel Marcantel; sister Shirley Noble and sister-in-law Coonie Cain.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Eddie Merritt, Hunter Wroten and Tristan Merritt, son-in-law, Paul Merritt and brothers-in-law, Stevie Adams and Louis Freemen.

A funeral service will be held in her honor on Friday, December 30, 2022. Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road with funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm and graveside burial following at Hillcrest Memorial Garden.
