Hope Ree Rainwater Lundberg, 66 years old, a resident of Slaughter, Hope passed away peacefully on February 4, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family. She entered this world on November 9, 1953, born to Chief Edward Rainwater and Rodney Rainwater Messenger, in Baton Rouge, LA. She always loved being the center of attention, she was a "Mother Theresa" to everyone she met, she loved sharing the love of the Lord, and she was a talented artist and quilter. She excelled in her career as a surgical technician during her many years in the field. She was a member of Fellowship Church in Zachary, LA.
Hope is survived by two daughters, Candace Ree Norton and boyfriend Gabriel Dale Reynolds and Jennie Lundberg Haley; three grandchildren, Tanner Michael Lundberg, Tyler Eugene Norton and Jenna Nicole Haley; two great grandchildren, Hollis Lundberg and Olivia Lundberg; brother, Chief Larry Rainwater; sister, Brenda Odom; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Hope was preceded in death by her father, Chief Edward Rainwater (of the Louisiana band of Choctaw Indians); mother, Rodney Rainwater Messenger; her loving husband, Raymond Eugene Lundberg; and brother, Chief Michael Rainwater
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals who took care of Hope during her time of need. Thank you to the Gabfest group for all the support you have shown over the years, and good friend, Della Storms for always being there through all her endeavors.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Friday, February 7, 2020, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday, February 8, 2020, from 10:00 AM until religious services in the chapel at 12:00 PM. Private interment will follow on a later date at Louisiana National Cemetery, Zachary.
Hope always had a beautiful light about her, she is definitely one of the brighter spirits in Heaven now.
