Glenn Travis Floyd, a man of profound faith, boundless adventure, and deep devotion to his family, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 17, 2026. At 83 years old, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by the warmth and love of the family he cherished so deeply.
Glenn's journey began on November 9, 1942, when he entered this world in Natchez, Mississippi. He was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs, LA.
He possessed a passionate spirit for the open road and the great outdoors, finding immense joy in camping, golfing and riding his motorcycles. His thirst for adventure was best captured alongside his best friend, Mark. Together, the duo shared an extraordinary bond and an unyielding wanderlust, logging over 120,000 miles on their bikes, an incredible milestone highlighted by an unforgettable journey all the way to the scenic shores of Nova Scotia.
Yet, as much as Glenn loved the thrill of the highway, he loved his wife even more. She was his ultimate co-pilot, frequently riding right alongside him, sharing the wind in their faces, the beautiful landscapes, and the countless memories they built together one mile at a time. Glenn leaves behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and an enduring reminder to live life to the absolute fullest.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary J. "Jean" Boudreaux Floyd; sons, Thomas Floyd (Christy) and John Floyd; daughter, Lisa Floyd Murphy; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Glenn is preceded in death by his father, Emmett S. Floyd; and mother, Edna E. Floyd.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Jesse Floyd, Braxton Floyd, Travis Rioux and Lucas Rioux. Honorary pallbearers, his friend of 70 years, Mark Guidry and a great grandson, Owen Gradney.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 865 Hatchell Lane, Denham Springs, LA, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, officiated by Fr. Tim Grimes. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
