George O. Wysor, 92, a native of Virginia and a resident of Slaughter, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Grace Nursing Home. He was known to make friends with everyone he met as he never met a stranger. He proudly served his country in the US Airforce for 21 years. He served the state of Louisiana as a computer analyst for 21 years.
George is survived by his daughter and son in-law, Nickie and James Deslatte of San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren, Patrick and wife Jackie, John and partner Joy, Dorian, and Noelle Deslatte; and five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Genevieve, Angela, Philomene, and James. He is also survived by his nephew and best friend, Billy Wysor and wife Merle.
George is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Carol" Ory Wysor.
The family would like to say a special thank you to his caregivers, Mamie Robinson, Rita Staggers, Betty McManus, Mamie Irvin, and his Doctor. Venu Kakarala, MD, Lane Regional Medical Center and the care givers at Grace Nursing Home.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Sunday, October 9, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Deacon Shelley Joseph. Graveside service and burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker.
