Geneva G. Butler, native of Winnsboro, LA, and resident of Baker, LA, passed away on May 20, 2015, at the age of 92, surrounded by family at her residence.
She was born on July 31, 1922, to Richard and Velma Gaulden.
Geneva is survived by her daughter, Diane Luzena (Verl), of Baker, LA; son, Marion O. "Buddy" Butler, Jr. (Dianne), of Shell Knob, MO; sister, Dot Neathery Potts, of Baker, LA; brother, Richard Gaulden (Mary), Fort Necessity, LA; grandchildren, Layne Smith (Coco), of Baker, LA, Donna S. Teer (John), of Lake Charles, LA, Shellie Ramirez (Paul), of Gonzales, LA, and Brady Butler (Laura), of Tulsa, OK; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion O. Butler, Sr., and her parents, Richard and Velma Gaulden. Pallbearers will include Layne Smith, Brady Butler, Michael Benavidez, Nathan Smith, Lucious Arbour and Jay Landry.
Visitation hours will be observed on Monday, May 25, 2015, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm until Services at 2:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd, Baker, LA.
Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregiver, Dixie Clark. Geneva will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
