Frances Blackwell Adams, a cherished matriarch and devoted woman of faith, was called to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 7, 2025. She passed away peacefully at the age of 92, having lived a long and fruitful life as a resident of Baker, Louisiana.
Born on October 21, 1932, in Brookhaven, Mississippi, Frances was the daughter of the late John and Nora Blackwell. Her childhood and upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of faith and love for family that she carried throughout her life.
For many years, Frances was a faithful and active member of Victory Baptist Church. Her life was a testament to her steadfast belief, and she served her church community with a loving heart. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion that inspired all who knew her.
While we mourn her passing, we celebrate a life well-lived and the blessed promise that she is now resting peacefully in the house of the Lord forever. The family takes comfort in knowing that though she is gone from their sight, she will forever remain in their hearts.
Frances is survived by her 3 daughters, Peggy Eastwood, Catherine D'Antoni and husband David, and Angie Moras; grandchildren, Scott and Chris Eastwood, Melissa D'Antoni Syperek and Benjamin Moras; and 9 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar "O.A." Adams; father, John A. Blackwell; mother, Nora Berry Blackwell; 5 brothers; and 5 sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana. Reverend George Scruggs, Jr. will officiate the services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Victory Baptist Church building fund at 14759 Denham Road, Pride, LA 70770.
