Felton Therrel Emrick

Felton T. Emrick, 89, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones on February 2, 2026. He was born on June 19, 1936, in Winnsboro, LA and moved to Baton Rouge after attending Northeast College in Monroe, LA. Felton joined the Baton Rouge Fire Department, retiring in 1992 as a District Fire Chief after 34 years of service. Felton was a devoted member of Foster Road Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Felton is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Anita Thrush Emrick; three blessed sons, Ronald "Ron" Emrick (Shamekia) of Greenwell Springs, Scott Emrick (Stephanie) of Central and Lane Emrick of Baton Rouge; one sister, Treva Emrick of Jonesville; one brother, Danny Michael Emrick (Teresa) of Damascus, AR; four grandchildren, Allison, Sarah and Chase Emrick of Central and step-grandson, Micah Dane Sanchez of Saint Amant; four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Floyd, Daniel, Alexis and John Percy Sanchez of Saint Amant; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Evie Lebeaux Emrick of Wisner, LA; sister, JoAnn Emrick Jones of Watson, LA; and step grandson, John Devin Sanchez of Central, LA.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, from 10:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 12:00 PM, with Brother Mike Morris officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Baker, LA.

Pallbearers will be his nephews Danny, Jeff and Stacy Jones, Cody and Joe Higdon and step grandson Micah Dane Sanchez.
