Eudora "Dora" Cavalliero Michelli, "The Dancing Queen" was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 23, 2026. She passed away peacefully at the age of 96, enveloped in the love and comfort of her family.
Dora's journey began on January 14, 1930, in the small community of Brooks, Louisiana, where she was born to the late Alida and Euzlien Cavalliero. Over nearly a century of life, she cultivated a legacy defined by her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and deep devotion to those she held dear. She was a proud graduate of Livonia High School, class of 1948.
A woman of profound conviction, Dora was a dedicated member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, where her faith was her anchor and her community was an extension of her family. Her life was a living testament to her beliefs, filled with grace, kindness, and unconditional love.
While she will be deeply missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she is resting in eternal peace, reunited with her heavenly Father.
Dora is survived by her children, Gwendolyn Michelli Hicks (Wayne), John Michelli (Doris), Sandy Michelli Singleton (Terry); 9 grandchildren, Wendy Hicks Barnhart (Keanan), Ashley Hicks Harris (Josh), Jennifer Haskell (Justin), Jessica Michelli, Cory Michelli, Matthew Michelli, Joe Babin (Brandy), Kerri McCuskey (Shannon), and Lisa Posey (John); 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren, Paesley and arriving in October, Blake Ellis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Dora is preceded in death by her husband, David Robert Michelli; father, Euzlien Cavalliero; mother, Alida Landry Cavalliero; son, Eugene Michelli; granddaughter, Lilly Ann Michelli; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
Serving as pallbearers will be Keanan Barnhart, Shannon McCuskey, Josh Harris, Justin Haskell, Greg Denson, Brad David Adams, Aidan McCuskey, and Max McCuskey.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at St. Isidore Catholic Church, 5657 Thomas Road, Baker, LA, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the Mass at 11:00 AM, officiated by Father Jason Palermo. The graveside service and burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and deep appreciation to the staff at Oakwood Village and Clarity Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion, and comfort provided to Dora and her family during this difficult time.
