Ethel "Glenda" Glennece
McRight
May 24, 1953 — Sep 28, 2026
Glennece "Glenda" McRight of Zachary, Louisiana, was called home to her eternal rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 28, 2026, at the age of 73, surrounded by her loved ones.
Glenda was a woman of deep faith whose life centered around her family, friends, and serving others. Born May 24, 1953, in Buckatunna, Mississippi, she was raised by the late Nazil and Fred Martin Henderson, Sr.
Glenda shared nearly 20 years with her loving companion, the late Charles Kleinpeter. She was a devoted mother to Kelly Daigle (Troy), Lacey McRight Chataignier (Josh), Brandon Kleinpeter (Kortnee), and Daryl Kleinpeter (Treva).
One of Glenda's greatest joys was being "Maw Maw" to Susan Cowart; the late Noah Merrill; Ashley Romero; Bryce and Elijah Daigle; and B.J., Autumn, Brody, Randi Kate, and Charlee Kleinpeter. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Lily Cowart; Aubri, Brennan, and Braxton Romero; and Mitchel, Liam, Troy, Levi, and Sophia Daigle.
Glenda adored her brothers, Bill Henderson (Kim), and the late "Little Wayne" Carr and Fred Henderson, Jr., as well as her chosen sister, Joyce Jester. She was also a proud aunt to George and Andrew Henderson, Casey Morin, Brad Jarrell, Shelly Lindsey, Leeann Devillier, Robbie McRight, and the late Louis Lucky.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. For many decades, Glenda faithfully served her church as a children's Sunday school teacher and worship leader. She found joy in baking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with those she loved. Her pralines and carrot cake were family favorites. Though she freely shared her recipes, no one could ever quite make them like she did. She operated her own grooming business for many years before retiring and had a lifelong love for animals. She often joked that she liked them better than people because "they didn't talk back."
Glenda will be remembered for her generous heart, sense of humor, and caring spirit. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support received, and to the compassionate staff of Gentiva Hospice and The Crossing for their care and comfort.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, Louisiana, on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Danny Gregg and Chaplain Ronnie Grant. Graveside services and burial will follow at Azalea Rest Cemetery in Zachary, Louisiana.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Henderson, Scott Spurgen, and Brandon, Daryl, B.J., and Brody Kleinpeter. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Kleinpeter, Ryhne Ferguson, and Troy Daigle.
