Emma Millet

A resident of Baton Rouge, Emma passed away peacefully at her daughters home in Baker on Monday, October 6, 2014. She was 85, a native of New Orleans, and retired from KMart. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 59pm, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7pm. Visiting will resume on Friday, Oct. 10, from 9am until religious services in the chapel at 11am. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker. Emma is survived by a daughter, Alma Marroy sister, Elsie Arcana six grandchildren, Michael Marroy, John Marroy and fiance Karen Vosburg, Christina Hebert and husband Nathan, Chris Pourciau and wife Arleen, Davis Pourciau, and Alvin John Pourciau, III and wife Mary and 13 great grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin John Pourciau, Sr. second husband, Larry P. Millet and a son, Alvin John Pourciau, Jr. Pallbearers will be Michael Marroy, John Marroy, Chris Pourciau, Davis Pourciau, Alvin John Pourciau, III, and Nathan Hebert. Emma was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, Legion of Mary, and Nursing Home Ministry. She loved animals, especially her dog, Sonny. She also loved going fishing with her family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
