Eldridge (Red) Andrew Downey, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home on September 6, 2016. A WWII veteran and a retired employee of Copolymer for 50+ years.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Effie Downey; brother, Thomas Downey; mother, Bertha Pickens and father, Eldridge Downey, Sr.

Red is survived by his four children, Thomas Downey (Debbie), Kenneth Downey (Liz), Linda Downey Reed (Dave) and Pamela Downey Clattenburg (David); multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A beloved father that loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Deacon Shelley Joseph will officiate the services. Graveside service and burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
