Edith “Dot” Neathery

Edith "Dot" Neathery, 94 years old, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 10, 2022. She entered this world on March 26, 1928, born to Velma and Richard Gaulden, in Winnsboro, LA. She loved her family and enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Dot was a member of First Baptist.

Dot is survived by her son, Bobby Wayne Neathery and wife, Mary Jo; two daughters, Karen Boles and husband, Freddie and Judy Whitstine and husband, Ray; five grandchildren, Robbie Neathery, Ricky Neathery, Chris Whitstine, Jennifer Boles, and Wendy DeWitt; four great grandchildren, Seth Neathery, Taylor-Ann Crawford, Olivia Whitstine, and Adeline Whitstine; and one great-great grandchild, Prezley Crawford; a special sister-in-law and her husband, Marie and George Holaway; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dot is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Willard Neathery; 2nd husband, J.W. Potts; father, Richard H. Gaulden; mother, Velma Hilton Gaulden; son, Billy Ray Neathery; grandson, Steven Whitstine; three brothers, Richard "Bud" Gaulden, Joseph Shelby Gaulden, and Mackie Ray Gaulden; and three sisters, Alma Gaulden, Alene Gaulden, and Geneva Butler.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Neathery, Ricky Neathery, Seth Neathery, Chris Whitstine, Layne Smith, and Mike Gaulden. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Holaway and Albert Dickey.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home, on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Jay Avance. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.

The family would like to thank Tasha and Lorainne with Cardinal Hospice for their respect and compassion while caring for their mother.
