Edith "Tiny" Wood Wallace, 87 years old, a resident of Slaughter, Louisiana went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 2, 2017. She was born to John Doyle and Stella Mae Wood on August 2, 1929 in Baton Rouge. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Council On Aging in Baker.
Edith is survived by daughter, Nancy Monahan and husband, Jim; two sons, Leslie Wallace and Alvin Wallace and wife Ramona; three grandchildren, Michael Monahan, Heather Wallace Arceneaux and husband, Brent, and Lonica Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Allyson O'Neal and Harmon Monahan; sister, June Simmons and husband, Jim; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Edith is preceded in death by her husband Jesse Martin Wallace; parents, John Doyle and Stella Mae Wood, son, John Luster Wallace; grandson, J.P. Monahan; sister, Betty O'Conner; brother, John "Bucky" C. Wood; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The visitation will continue on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Baker Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
