Edith Moore

Mrs. Edith Lucille Richhart Moore, 92 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 1, 2022. She entered this world on March 17, 1929, born to William and Bonnie Richhart, in Loranger, LA. She will be remembered as Gran by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and for her loving, caring, and giving personality. She loved to travel and faithfully volunteered in the community. She was honored for her volunteer contributions to mental health through the naming of the Baton Rouge Mental Health Center in honor of her and her husband.

Edith is survived by her son, David Stewart and wife, Lenora; daughter, Elayn Welford; daughter-in-law, Loretta Stewart; step-son, Tommy Moore; step-daughters, Peggy Galvan and husband, Henry and Marye Blank and husband, David; grandchildren, Sarah Soileau, Rachel Balmuth, Joshua Welford, Nicole Bryant, David Stewart, and Emily Holt; step-grandchildren, Elizabeth McCain, Dale Blank, Michael Blank, and Jocelyn Galvan; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Edith is preceded in death by her 1st husband, Wesley A. Stewart, Jr.; 2nd husband, James H. Moore, Jr.; father, William Richhart; mother, Bonnie Baham Richhart; son, Wesley William Stewart; 2 step-sons, Jimmy Moore and Billy Moore; granddaughter, Becky Hamilton; and 2 brothers, Leslie Richhart and Stanley Richhart.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Friday, February 4, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Chuck Stearns. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
