Doris Banes

Doris Wanda Banes, 67, born in Gulfport, MS and a resident of Baker, Doris passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at The Carpenter House, Baton Rouge. Doris was a member of First Baptist Church of Gulfport, MS, and attended First Baptist Church of Baker. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Victoria Renee' Banes Mulligan and husband, Gerald; and Christy Michelle Banes Pearson and husband, Blake; three sons, Brian Ashley Banes, Joseph Thomas Banes, and Steven Todd Banes; brother, Michael Smith ; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dawlin and Amanda Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, from 5-9pm. Graveside services will be held at Old Marion Cemetery, Meridian, MS, on Friday, June 3 at 1:00pm.
