Donis Betty Martin

Donis Betty Bateman Martin, 90 years old, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Sister, was called to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She entered this world on September 11, 1932, born to Claudie Foreman Bateman and Delos Bateman, in Gloster, MS. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker and a graduate of Oxford High School in 1953. For over 40 years, Betty had a childcare center in her home and served the community of Baker. She made a huge impact on the children she cared for daily.

Betty is survived by her sons, Tommy Martin and wife Julie, Gene Anders and wife JoAnn, and Gary Martin; daughters, Betty Barnes and Nadine Euwer; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Tressie Alice Bateman and Mary Ratcliff; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy L Martin, Sr.; her parents; and her brother Robert Bateman.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Pourciau, Brannon Anders, Brian Anders, Jeremy Rape, Brian Euwer, Hunter Pourciau and Mason Pourciau.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will continue at Baker Funeral Home, on Friday, August 11, 2023, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Bro. Carl Grice. The graveside Service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
