Donald "Don" Wesley Parsons, 79, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He entered this world on December 14, 1946, born to John and Bernice Parsons in McComb, MS and a life-long resident of Brownsfield, LA.

Don graduated from Baker High School in 1965. He worked for IBM for 22 years and retired from Mercantile/Dillards as a Field Support Technician. He was also a long-time member of Trinity Methodist Protestant Church. Don was always willing to help friends and family with any projects. His passion was model airplanes, sailing, beach trips and traveling with his wife.

Don is survived by the love of his life of 58 years, Marilyn Shar Parsons; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles & Kimberly Parsons; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer & Thomas Magliolo; 3 grandchildren, Melanie & Conner Parsons and Sarah Beth Magliolo.

Preceded in death by his parents, John W. & Bernice Forrest Parsons.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, officiated by Reverend Rick McAlister. The graveside service and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, in Baker, Louisiana.
