David Rushing, Sr.

A resident of Ethel and a native of Baker, David passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center Bluebonnet. He was 70, retired from Georgia Pacific, and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard.

Services were private.

David is survived by a daughter, Linda Rushing of Baton Rouge a son, David A. Rushing, Jr. and wife, Suzanne of Zachary sister, Nancy Cobb of Zachary two brothers, C.J. Rushing of Baton Rouge, and Leroy Rushing of Denham Springs and five grandchildren, Kassey King, Derek Rushing, Reed Rushing, Jason Richardson, and Scott Beeson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Berttress McDowell Rushing and Louis Richmond Rushing, Sr. and a brother, Louis Rushing, Jr.

David was an avid outdoorsman he loved hunting fishing, and camping. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Pennington Biomedical Research Center, or Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.
