HOLMES, Christine Womack A resident of Baker, and a retired lab technician with Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Christine W. Holmes died at 7am Sat. Dec. 12, 2009 at Ollie Steele Burden Manor at the age of 80. She was born July 24, 1929 in Kentwood, LA. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Rd., Baker, on Tuesday 121509 from 5-9pm, and Wed. 121609 from 9am until religious services in the funeral home chapel at 11am, conducted by Rev. Bud Traylor. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. She is survived by five children, Carla H. Murray and husband Micky, Carl Pete Holmes Jr. and wife Margie, Kenneth Repete Holmes Sr., David Holmes Sr. and wife Lisa, and Janet H. Quebedeaux and husband Hal; a brother, Joe M. Womack Jr; 11 grandchildren, Ash-Leigh Garcia, David Holmes Jr, Jonathan Bankston, Jeremy Holmes, Kristi Ibarra, Tiffany Welch, Emily Holmes, Alyse Quebedeaux, Trent Holmes, Kenneth Michael Holmes Jr, Tyler Quebedeaux; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Holmes Sr; infant brother, Guy Womack; and her parents, Joe M. Womack Sr. and Rosa May Tate Womack. Pallbearers will be grandsons. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Baker. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
