Charles Edward Knaps Jr was received by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and taken to his eternal heavenly home Friday, May 15th, 2026, surrounded by his family and friends.

A proud United States Marine Corp veteran, Charlie served his country with honor and carried that same spirit of service into every aspect of his life. He retired from Exxon Mobil after 30 years of faithful and dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of hard-work, integrity, and commitment.

Charlie was a kindhearted Christian man who treasured his family and friends. He found joy spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were the joy of his life. He loved to cook. He loved vacations with family. He will be remembered for his quirky wit and his generous and loving personality. He was a fantastic storyteller who loved to reminisce with his family and friends. He made a lasting impact on all who knew and loved him. He will be profoundly missed, and his memory will be forever cherished.

Charlie is survived by the love of his life, his wife of almost 50 years, Diane Jennings Knaps; their children, Charles Edward Knaps III "Tres" and wife Brooke, Anna Knaps Dubois and husband Klay; six grandchildren, Kinsley Marie Knaps, Kage Sawyer Knaps, Kash Edward Knaps, Olivia Grace Dubois, Charlie Judge Dubois and Zach William Dubois; sister-in-law, Sandra Corkern.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Knaps, Sr.; and mother, Jean Stuart Knaps.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road Baker, LA, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 12:00PM until the funeral service begins at 2:00PM, officiated by Brother Eddie Wren. The graveside service with Marine Corps. Honors will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Baker, LA.
